Why should I go with your company?
I’ve been doing stonework for almost 40 years, and I’ve learned how to design and create stone landscapes that are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and durable. All skilled work is done by experienced tradespeople only. Inexperienced workers are directly supervised and trained to eventually work independently. My work is very meticulous, and I take great pride in my work. It’s who I am.
Why is base so important?
A newly installed patio can look great when it’s done, and then look like a mess the following spring if a sufficient base wasn’t installed. Please beware of companies offering their services for a very low price. There’s a reason that they’re doing this, and you don’t want to find out the hard way!
The native soil in our region absorbs water, which has a detrimental impact on stone work. During the freeze and thaw cycle, the saturated soil will expand and contract, also know as heaving. This results in a once beautiful, level patio turning into a jumbled mess.
A compacted 6 inch granular base is necessary for adequate drainage, and will provide a solid base for the stonework above. All Stone Man projects include a proper base.

What is the difference between natural and manufactured stone?
I work with a wide range of natural stone. These are stones that occur naturally, and have been harvested from the Earth. Natural stone has a timeless beauty, is very durable, but it is expensive.
Manufactred stone can imitate the look of natural stone or be made as modular, square units that come in all shapes and sizes. It is very durable of not abused, but can loose it’s appeal if it gets chipped or scratched.
