Why is base so important?
It’s all about that base! I can’t stress this enough. The native soil in our region absorbs water, which has a detrimental impact on stone work. During the freeze and thaw cycle, the saturated soil will expand and contract, also know as heaving. This results in a once beautiful, level patio turning into a jumbled mess.
A compacted 6 inch granular base is necessary for adequate drainage, and will provide a solid base for the stonework above. All Stone Man projects include a proper base.
What size of work crew do you have?
I typically work with a very small crew, doing the majority of the skilled work myself. This enables me to ensure the highest quality and workmanship for your project.
Are you insured?
Yes, I carry liability insurance, and I my WSIB is fully up to date.
